Clinical Background & Surgical Planning
This clinical case features a 4-year-old female Toy Poodle, weighing 4.5kg, presenting with bilateral hip dysplasia. The patient underwent a femoral head ostectomy on her right hip one year ago at another hospital, resulting in limited post-operative mobility. Consequently, left-sided cementless Total Hip Replacement (THR) was selected to restore active joint function. Pre-operative planning was executed utilizing specialized “VVV” (Venus Vet Viewer) software to ensure micro-implant accuracy.

Implant Selection & Post-Operative Outcomes
Following digital templating and calibration, the surgical team selected a 12mm Cup, a 10-6 Dual Mobility Head, a 6mm Neck, and a Size #2 Stem. Post-operative radiographic evaluation confirmed that all implant angles perfectly conformed to physiological standards, achieving 90% matching within the femoral canal. Excellent centralization, optimal press-fit, and a safe anteversion angle were achieved, restoring the patient’s active, pain-free locomotion within days of surgery.
